Recently I bumped into Geoffrey Grosenbach of Peepcode fame who did a short guerilla interview with me on SoundCloud. Now we’re off to Tape and The Loveroom to listen to grandmaster Sean P who’ll surely play some fine disco for us…

Just passed 200 beta testers. And they actually seem to be using it! A couple of hotshot DJ:s and producers have already joined in–and we’ve got a hotshot Python coder in our team. Next week we’ll roll out a few small but cool features, including full support for M$ Internet Exploder…

This week is both RailsConf and Popkomm in Berlin. It couldn’t be a better combination as we are all pretty much music- and code phreaks at SoundCloud. With a party line-up that includes Sascha Funke, Steve Bug and Richie Hawtin AND a conference line-up featuring Chad Fowler, Jason Hoffmann, and Marcel Molina we couldn’t be happier. Yesterday we had some weissbeers with Jason and David from excellent hosting provider Joyent and some other startups, today we’ll be at RejectConf in the evening, and on thursday at Modeselektors releaseparty.

And last but not least, we released a new and improved iteration of SoundCloud. Now you can has uncompressed AIFF and WAVE uploads (Thanks Jens). And beautiful stats graphs (Thanks Matti!).

Life couldn’t be much better.

We’ve been very hard at work the last few weeks on the latest private SoundCloud beta, which was released yesterday. Internally we use artist names for our milestones. The last one was Justus, after a certain Justus on Kompakt…
So, on to the feature upgrades:

• A proper signup & invite system
• You can now reply on timed comments
• Nice track sharing mode page
• Tracks can be now be downloaded, if it’s ok for the artist
• There’s a sweet BPM tapper for tracks
• Messaging that actually works
• Better hotlist algorithm + it can be date filtered, thanks to Jens, our SQL guru
• + 100s of bugfixes…

Yay. I especially dig the BPM tapper. Go ahead and play around with it. And let us know what you think about the new stuff…
