EricEric Announcing Our New Player Widget!

Matas, our Flash-guru, have spent considerable amounts of time updating the SoundCloud player widget, and today we’re happy to tell you that it’s finally out there! Here’s a brief overview of the new features:

1. Volume control!

4. Share panel with support for direct sharing to your favorite social network

5. Handy switch to toggle comments on/off for faster navigation

6. Last but not least, threaded comments! There’s also easy access to post timed comments straight from the player.

That’s all for now, hope you enjoy it! We have even more feature for the player planned–and please don’t hesitate to let us know in case there’s something you’re missing! And here it is in full effect, featuring no less than 378 remixes of Imogen Heap!

  • Thank you for adding the auto-stop feature to avoid simultaneous track play. This is big! Love how the functions works across multiple open browser windows as well. Volume control is big too, Great job Matas and rest of SC team!
  • Old embed instances have updated smoothly to new version of widget in Safari and Firefox. IE8 still seems to be retaining old player on past embed instances though...

  • This widget look awesome! Have you considered adding the option of requiring fans to submit email addresses to get free downloads? (Bandcamp and Reverbnation do this...)

    I would be very interested to see SoundCloud posted on facebook as a player. Anyone can put music on facebook one song at a time, but having a player on facebook that each person could have their own playlist of songs and what not is what I am looking for. I may be wrong SoundCloud may work for facebook but I might be doing something wrong.

  • I've had a SoundCloud player widget on my Facebook profile for months, and it's always worked great... today, however, I tried to replace the single track I've had posted recently with a three-song set I've got on my SoundCloud free account. The interface to do this has changed since I used it, and I can't seem to access that multi-song set in the new profile widget update process. Help?
