This week we are profiling our intern extraordinaire on the Community team. He comes straight from Sweden and he landed in Berlin a few months ago! Please help me in welcoming Niklas Smith!

Hej! What is cracking?

Hey! Niklas here. Having a blast doing a bunch of crazy, cool stuff here at SoundCloud!

What’s your role? What do you like about it so far?

I’m an intern at the SoundCloud Community Team. I basically help out with blogging, answering users’ questions on GetSatisfaction and helping with the SoundCloud meetups which take place all around the world! Lots of fun stuff in general–all around!

So Niklas, where are you from? How did the re-location work out for you?

I moved from northern Sweden to Berlin. It wasn’t too bad! Truth be told, most relocations take some time for me to get adjusted to–but Berlin could not have been any more of a kind city!

What kind of shows do you like going to?

I’m an omnivore. All the way from drum machines to operas and everything in between, I love going to concerts!

What do you like about Berlin so far?

Amazing history, amazing people and amazing vibe! It’s the place for the absolutely coolest tech startups in Europe.

Any favourite music on SoundCloud right now?

Loose leaf extremist by soawesome

Not only is it just great tech house by So Awesome, the whole meta-thing of where the he’s talking about the track inside the track itself just cracks me up.

Mars by Holst, performed by RCM Sinfonietta by Ben Wiffen

How can you not like Holst’s the Planets? Mars is by far one of the most bad-ass compositions ever. This recording by the Royal College of Music Sinfonietta is an absolutely top-notch rendition.

I heard you do an amazing impersonation of a famous Arnie…is this true?

Haha, yes, ask me a question at fake-arnold.takesquestions.com! I have a special place in my heart for the Governator.

Hey so do you have one, or two or three reasons why someone should join SoundCloud, or our team in particular?

It’s all about having the urge to work towards the future advancements in audio communication and entertainment. We’re in changing times, so your work here can leave a mark that lives on 50 years from now.

…also everybody here is amazing! And the Community team is so darn great!

Great! So I am wondering, what are some of your most fun facts?

• I could probably write an entire PhD thesis on how Swedish pizza is horrible
• I have great fascination of internet memes
• I almost became a child actor for a series of TV-commercials.
