SoundCloud Voices this week welcomes a behemoth of a comedy network All Things Comedy.  Only just launched to the world a couple of weeks back the network features a wide variety of comedians and shows; 18 comedians and 11 channels to be precise.  Featuring the likes of Bill Burr, Al Madrigal (from John Stewart’s Daily Show), Harland Williams, Ari Shaffir and Christian Pazsitzky, to name just a few, the shows cover all elements of comedy, middle age, humanity and fart jokes.  Here’s a few suggestions of shows to follow.  The entire 11 show network is also listed below.

First up Harland Williams podcast The Harland Highway, you may remember him from Dumb and Dumber. This is the place to be for Harland Williams jokes, commentary, interviews, observations & hilarious reoccurring characters.

Bill Burr also features on the All Things Comedy Network with his show Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast. Here’s Bill explaining the show:

“I host a podcast each week called The Monday Morning Podcast. This past year I was lucky enough to be in two episodes of Breaking Bad. I hope to get a chance to do more work like that in the future.”

The Minivan Men features comedians Chris Spencer, Al Madrigal and Maz Jobrani. They all have kids. They also have wonderful wives, friends and neighbors who sometimes drive them to the brink of insanity. If it matters, none of them own a minivan – which doesn’t mean they don’t necessarily want one. Enjoy.

There are so many other shows to feature that one blog post can not do it justice. Other shows part of the All Things Comedy Network are Ari Shaffir Skeptic’s Tank, The LongShot Podcast, Walking the Room, Jake This, The Flop House, Your Mom’s House, Laugh Spin, and Deep Shit with Baron Vaughn.

Ben SoundCloud Voices – Edinburgh Festival Fringe!

SoundCloud Voices is a weekly Community feature focusing on new spoken word creators found on SoundCloud. It might be a podcast, radio show, audio book, interview, audio messages, a poem, anything! Keep an eye out every Thursday for a new post.

It’s that time of year again; starting tomorrow Edinburgh opens it’s doors for the Fringe Festival. Three weeks of performers of all shapes, sizes, genres and budgets will be flocking to Scotland to show case their performances. It you like comedy, theatre, poetry, music, cabaret, dance and more then this is the festival for you! This year we are proud to announce we have partnered up directly with Fringe enabling any performer to add sound to their performer profile. The idea behind the partnership was to empower all performers to show off what their show will be about – that can be in the shape of a short audio description, and snippet of a past show, an interview, podcast – anything audio! Take a listen below to some performers sounds and visit their Fringe profiles on EdFringe.com to see the integration in full effect!

First up take a listen to Helen Arney – a comedian, musician and scientist! A regular contributor to the BBC radio show Infinite Monkey Cage, Helen’s show is comedy stand-up, science, songs and silliness. No need for me to explain, just take a listen to below and please visit her Fringe Performer Profile for more audio!

Dracula: Sex, Sucking and Stardom was too good a title not to take a quick listen to. Last Chance Saloon, celebrated purveyors of Guilty Pleasure Theatre, revamp Bram Stoker’s Dracula with their own brand of the ridiculous to create a slick show of absurd, deft theatre comedy. Follow Jonathan Harker to Transylvania where he discovers the Count’s evil plans and love of all things showbiz. Take a listen to some samples of the show on their performer profile.

Next up, ‘imagine if Derren Brown was funny’. Well that’s what you get with comedy mind reader Doug Segal, with his show “How to read minds and influence people”. Take a listen to an interview below with Doug on a radio show where he does a little bit of mind reading, and check out his performer profile.

As part of the festival, there is also a “Free Fringe”. Dodgers Comedy are one of these shows, offering up a jam-packed hour of stand-up from the cream of Norwich’s up-and-coming comedy crop, all for free! Take a listen below and check out the rest of the audio from all the stars of the show on their profile!

Finally, amongst all the comedy, theatre and cabaret, there is also a lot of musicians performing at the festival. Death Boogie caught our attention which is a multimedia hip hop poetry musical and features the group The Might Third Rail from New York.

Join us for a Meetup at the Pear Tree on Sunday at 7pm in Edinburgh! We want to see you there, for more information RSVP via our Meetup.com event here.

Time for another SoundCloud Voices people, and this week we are back on the comedy podcasts, featuring possibly one of the best comedy podcasts out there!  It’s The Bugle!  Having recently moved from The Times newspaper, we are happy to announce that The Bugle will live on, on SoundCloud!  Featuring comedians Andy Zaltzman and John Oliver the transatlantic region’s leading bi-continental satirical double-act, leave no hot potato unbuttered in their worldwide-hit weekly topical comedy show.  The show which tackles the latest craziness in current affairs regularly gets over 2 million downloads a month and is well worth a listen.  Check out their new shiny site TheBuglePodcast.com where they are looking for donations to help support the ongoing production of the show #savethebugle, and like them on Facebook too.  Take a listen below to the latest show.

Next up is a podcast, from The British Comedy Guide, that is really is quite bizarre, called Me1 vs Me2 with the prolific podcaster Richard Herring.  To summarise the show, its basically Richard playing himself at snooker and commentating on it!  In the face of some harsh iTunes reviews Richard has even gone so far as to threaten that he will continue doing the podcast until he gets zero listens!  I now challenge you to not listen!  Here’s the lastest episode below, and make sure to check out some of the other shows from the British Comedy Guide!

And finally, there is Pappy’s Bangers and Mash.  Where the format is hosts Ben, Matthew and Tom have a chat at the start of the day, then they go away and write some sketches and then come back and incorporate them into the podcast.  It basically entails some silly chat and banter.  Well worth a listen!
