DavidDavid Getting creative with Facebook, @DirtySecretz show us how Comments

SoundCloud users and DJ/production duo Dirty Secretz just tweeted a link to their Facebook page where they managed to do a really nice integration between Facebook and SoundCloud that we’d like to share with you. This is the landing page of Dirty Secretz’ artist page on Facebook:

Facebook | Dirty Secretz

Clicking on “Check out our Tracks” will redirect you to the Tracks tab in the top menu where they have embedded their set. Also very nice, instead of simply choosing auto-play, they have a prominent button in the center that will start playing the tracks when clicking Play:

They’ve also done this for the Remix tab:

Google Chrome

The best part: they’re sharing with us and you how they made it so you can go ahead and create something similar. For you tech-heads out there, install the Facebook Static FBML app, then follow the instructions posted here and add the link to the .swf from the embed code you want to add. If you need help, send them a shout via Twitter head over here to get the full instructions. Nice!

Thanks, guys! Very beautiful.

DavidDavid New feature: Push to other Social Networks Comments

We’re excited to share the news with you about a new feature we just launched. We weren’t quite sure how to name it so we’re just going to call it “Push to other Social Networks” as it best describes what it actually does. With this new feature you can easily manage on what social networks other than SoundCloud you’d like your events (new favorites and new public tracks & sets) to get published. We currently support Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. Here it is:

Extensions

Find this feature in your Extensions settings. As you can see, the variety of settings gives you full control of what you’d like to see pushed to your other social profiles. You can also customize the messages for Facebook and MySpace to give it a personal touch.

If you’re an admin of one or more Facebook Pages, the cool thing is that you can also select the pages you want your events to be pushed to from the menu highlighted below. So if you’re an artist with your own Facebook Page you can automatically push events to your personal and to your artist profile. It’s a brand-new feature that Facebook only made available a few days ago. Pretty cool, huh!

Extensions - SoundCloud

Once you’ve uploaded a track, set or have favorited a track, it will automatically show up on your social network profile. Here’s how it looks in your Facebook stream:

Hat tip to our developer Johannes who spent the last couple of days building this feature. As always, please let us know what you think in the comments.

Update: Here’s the screencast explaining how it works:

DaveDave Moby on SoundCloud Comments

MobyThere’s been a lot of buzz this week about the different ways that Moby has been using SoundCloud. And we really wanted to highlight two really cool associated apps that have been built.

First up the ’social music’ Moby app on Facebook that allows you to stream and buy Moby’s new album direct from his fan page. If you get three of your friends to listen too, you can buy the album straight from the app (both downloads and CDs) with a discount up to 20%. Pretty cool, click here to check it out. The app was built by the guys at iPlatform, if you’re an artist and interested in doing something similar here’s how to contact them

Moby Facebook app

The second app, built by CultureJam, lets you listen to his new album and post a mini-review to your Twitter stream. After posting your review, you can download the title track ‘Wait For Me’ for free! Each month the most creative review will win a prize – the first prize being a signed print from Moby’s recent Little Idiot art exhibition in London. Go to http://twitter.moby.com to listen to the new album, tweet your review, and get your free download.

HenrikHenrik SoundCloud Player for Facebook, now viral Comments

We have now deployed a major update for our player application for Facebook. It has been three weeks of hard coding from Johan to get it ready and working for the new Facebook design and platform. We also added some features that we hope you’ll enjoy.

First of all we have made the interface a bit better and easier to understand. It’s not a complicated app but we really want everyone understand how to get their favorite tracks on profiles and pages. Want to read about how it works? Click on the help link next to the headline.

We also added full feed support. This means that every time you add a track, a story will end up in your network’s feed, perfect for taking your tracks on a viral spin. And If you should find a track you like on someone else’s feed, page or profile you can easily add it to yours by clicking the “Add this track to my profile”-button.

A minor update was also made on the SoundCloud side of things. The “Share on Facebook” button is now connected to the Player application so when you hit “Share” the track will be loaded into the application and added to your feed. This makes it much easier to share your favorites even outside of SoundCloud.

Last but not least, you can now also choose whether to show the track comments or not.

If you find any glitches or have any suggestions on how to make the application even better, head over to our page on Get Satisfaction. Happy Facebooking!

HenrikHenrik Receive tracks, now also through Facebook Comments

As you might know we have a feature on SoundCloud that we call the DropBox. It let’s anyone send you mixes, tracks and sounds right to your SoundCloud account using our slick and easy uploader. The feature is especially useful for labels that receive a lot of demos but also for ex. music bloggers that get’s a lot of music sent their way.

DropBox on Facebook
Some two weeks back we built a small app for Facebook to enable putting the DropBox widget on your profile and pages in an easy way. So if you want friends and fans to send you music the Facebook way, head over to the app and install it.

Install the SoundCloud DropBox!

And by the way, I hope you haven’t missed that you can have both your sets and single tracks on Facebook aswell, complete with timed comments, a crisp waveform and all!
