SoundCloud Voices is a new weekly Community feature focusing on spoken word creators found on SoundCloud. It might be a podcast, radio show, audio book, interview, audio messages, a poem, anything! Keep an eye out every Thursday for a new post.
This week we are passing by the radio world and the land of producers. There are some great radio producers using SoundCloud, some of whom make their own podcasts. The following three are some of the best out there and deserve their recognition in this week’s SoundCloud Voices.
1. Roman Mars and 99% Invisible – Roman Mars is a radio producer and reporter and works for everybody. Having worked for the likes of KALW and PRX, 99% Invisible is a absolutely brilliant podcast about design, architecture and the 99% invisible activity that shapes our world. Take a listen to the latest episode on the sound of sport.
2. Benjamen Walker and Too Much Information – maker of the Big Ideas podcast for the Guardian and a regular on WFMU Too Much Information is Ben’s podcast where in a world where everyone overshares the truth 140 characters at a time, telling tales might be the most honest thing you can do. Here’s his latest episode:
3. Erin Gleeson and Let’s Be Self Sufficient – works at WYPR in Baltimore Erin’s podcast Lets Be Self Sufficient looks at people leaping bravely (or blindly) into a new project or idea. In other words looking at people taking matters into their own hands. Take a listen to her latest, and utterly brilliant, episode focussing on musician Dan Deacon who was forced to complete one of his tours using the Greyhound Bus.
