This Icelandic duo loves to create and experiment with electronic music. They’re comprised of Krummi Björgvinsson, artist and singer/songwriter of the famed rock band Minus, and Halldor Björnsson, composer/producer of innumerable works of musical mastercraft. Check ‘em out!
Icelandic solo singer-songwriter, Elíza, is preparing to release her second solo album. She’s also known as the former lead singer of all-girl Icelandic band Bellatrix, which was formed when she was a teen. Fun facts: she’s also trained as an Opera singer and plays the violin, guitar, ukulele and piano!
Árni Grétar, also known as Futuregrapher, is an electronic musician who is one of the leading members of the local Weirdcore scene and has been praised for his great live performances. He has released three EPs since 2009 and you can hear some of what he has produced so far below!
Originally started as a string quartet formed by four girls (Edda Rún Ólafsdóttir, Hildur Ársælsdóttir, María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir and Sólrún Sumarliðadóttir) at the Reykjavík College of Music in the late 1990s, Amiina is now a sextet after a recent masculine infusion.
