This Week in Tumblr: August 9th – 13th

This week’s Tumblr recap is a little late so apologies if you were waiting on it! From last Monday to Friday, there was a lot of great music via the SoundCloud Tumblr.

Monday:

  • Eddy Temple Morris and Tom Bellamy have teamed up and created a new project called The Losers. Their album is exclusively on SoundCloud and will be officially released in September! Hear it below…

Tuesday:

  • Weezer’s latest track, “Memories”, is available on SoundCloud. In case you missed this epic album cover – and song – here it is again!

  • The Afghan Riders offered up their song, “If Only”, in exchange for some social media coverage. Hear it below and click here to share it around.
  • More remix competitions! This time, Krust and David Morales were looking for some excellent remixers. To check out David Morales’ contest, click this link! Krust’s contest is closed now but you can see the winners here!
  • Martin Delaney created an entire EP using the iPad music app (complete with SoundCloud integration), Bleep!Box. Check it out!
  • The Hold Steady uploaded their latest single to SoundCloud called “The Sweet Part of the City”. You can hear this nice little summer tune below.

Thursday:

  • The anticipation is growing for Röyksopp’s upcoming album, Senior. The band uploaded “The Drug” to SoundCloud last week. Hear it below!

  • Gold Panda will be releasing his next album, Lucky Shiner, this October. One of his songs off Lucky Shiner, “Snow & Taxis”, is streaming on SoundCloud and available for download at luckyshiner.com!
  • Last week, we launched an open-source app for remix competitions! So far, music acts such as Zero 7, RJD2, and Gulf Aid are using this app for their remix competitions! You can learn more right here.

Friday:

  • LA band, No Age, has a new album coming out in September (September’s going to be a big month). The band has two songs off the new album streaming on Sub Pop’s SoundCloud page. Hear “Glitter” below!
