This Week in Tumblr: August 30th – September 3rd

Monday:
- Check out Music Hack Day’s new blog. You can keep yourself informed on upcoming MHD events by following their blog! And, if you don’t know what Music Hack Day is, check out the cool video below!
Tuesday:
- Drum and Bass Arena announced a remix contest. The winner will be awarded a set of Pioneer HDJ-2000 headphones, a SoundCloud Pro account and an hour live DJ set on D&B TV. Three runners-up will receive Lite accounts with SoundCloud! Learn more about the contest right here.
Wednesday:
- Time+Space is the UK’s leading distributor in sample libraries. The organization has been uploading loads of samples to their SoundCloud page recently. To promote their page, we’ve teamed up and are offering a yearlong free subscription to a Solo account if you review one of Time+Space’s products. Learn how you can win here!
- Discover some new music and listen to upcoming musician, Oh Land. She’s also giving away some of her tracks for free over at SoundCloud. Check out her song, “Sun of a Gun”, below to get a taste of her music!
Thursday:
- Gang of Four are running a remix contest! Learn more here!
- Discover more new music and check out the latest Hype Machine radio show. It’s packed full of great stuff, including new music and interviews with music bloggers! Check it out below.
- Music Week magazine has recently been releasing geographically-focused playlists. This month, they focused on Irish talent! Head on over to their SoundCloud page to have a listen!
Friday:
- Wanna write a one-minute song? Check out this group!
- Point Blank launched a songwriting competition. The track was provided by top songwriter, Jony Rockstar, and what you need to do is either write your song over this one or remix it! Learn more about it here and listen to the track you need to write-over/remix below!
- To top it all off, here’s a new remix of Neon Indian’s “Psychic Chasms” by Anoraak!
