This Week in Tumblr: contributions, competitions and cookies
Welcome back! Here’s some of the things that went on at the SoundCloud Tumblr blog:
After the catastrophe that shook Japan two weeks ago, SoundClouders have been helping and paying recognition to Japan in many ways so we highlighted several of them:
- Over 20 SoundCloud users collectively produced an album called Rising Japan. All proceeds will go to Shelter Box, an organization helping the worst affected areas in Japan. Purchase their compilation HERE with all proceeds going to Japan Red Cross.
- Nihon Kizuna, a compilation spanning 40+ tracks featuring contributions from Hyperdub, Ninja Tune, One-Handed Music, All City and more. For more info go HERE.

We also brought up several contests that just kicked off:
- Husky Rescue are running a remix competition as a lead up to their Ship of Light box set. Stems packs will be released weekly here between March 22st and April 11th. To enter the and more information click here. 4 winning tracks, one for each single, will also be released as a digital EP on Catskills Records.

- The London International festival of Digital Arts, Music & Culture Alpha-ville is opening it’s doors to submissions that challenge the boundaries between art, design, technology, and science. Visit their dropbox.
- Silk Music Publishing launched a remix competition of Shingo Nakamura & Kazusa’s “Move On”. Winners get their remixes released on Silk Digital Records. Click here to get to the contest!
