Found Sounds: On a Jet Plane
Found Sounds is a SoundCloud community series focusing on some of the most weird and wonderful sounds that can be found on SoundCloud. Count on new installments with some of our favorite sounds each Tuesday!
Airplanes are some of the biggest, noisiest machines most people come into contact with. They also provide a whole cornucopia of fun sounds to record — from the flyover sounds, to the captain’s announcements, to takeoff and landing. This week in Found Sounds we listen to a (small) fraction of some of the great airplane and airport sounds on the ‘Cloud.
Today’s first sound comes from a user with the enviable name Field Recording out of Berlin, Germany. He recorded a flyover at the Tegel Airport here in SoundCloud’s home city. Check out the wake vortex from about 50 seconds in!

Up next is an airport announcement that may sound unusual to many readers, in that it’s from Indonesia. It was captured by suara kecil, who has documented all sorts of field recordings in a collection called “Everyday Indonesia“. If you like this one, check out the rest!

The final sound in this week’s Found Sounds is also the final airplane sound in many journeys — it’s the taxi music from the EasyJet flight as it’s towed up to the gate, recorded by SoundClouder citizensound.

That’s all for this week’s Found Sounds! Tune in next week for more crazy sounds from the ‘Cloud.
