SoundCloud SoundCloud Voices

SoundCloud Voices is a weekly Community feature focusing on new spoken word creators found on SoundCloud. It might be a podcast, radio show, audio book, interview, audio messages, a poem, anything! Keep an eye out every Thursday for a new post.

We are slowly coming towards the end of the year and it’s a time of reflection! With this in mind SoundCloud Voices takes a look at some podcasts that might be able to help with your life – whether that be with meditation, your sex life or how you focus on your career there are podcasts for that on SoundCloud.

First up is 90 Seconds on Sex, hosted Dr. Paul Joannides, a research psychoanalyst and one of the leading voices in sex education, the show takes a look at the latest on sex in science, medicine and psychology. Take a listen to his latest audio which focuses on some particularly interesting research from Korea…

Next up is a podcast which has more of a psychic and metaphysical take on self help. Hosted by Kristi Walsh, Surfing the Psychic Waves, where she talks to surfers, psychics and metaphysicians to share their tales of the surf and to discover new ways to handle these cosmic and ascension waves.

And finally, last but no means least is the Action Podcast, which is your weekly source of inspiration and motivation for taking consistent action in your life. ActionPodcast coaches provides practical insights and actionable ideas for making consistent progress in the important areas of your life.

SoundCloud It’s voting time: Create a sound that’s never been heard before

Back in October, we joined forces with Vancouver Film School (VFS) and asked the community to get creative and create a sound that’s never been heard before. Well, there were over 400 submissions and VFS has chosen 10 finalists. Now, we’re asking everyone out there to help choose a winner! Keep in mind, the winner will receive a full tuition scholarship to VFS’s Sound Design for Visual Media program.

Edward Found Sounds: Wake up and smell the coffee

Found Sounds is a SoundCloud community feature focusing on some of the most weird and wonderful sounds that can be found on SoundCloud. Count on new installments with some of our favorite sounds each Tuesday!

Put your hands up if you can’t start the morning without it? Whether it’s from a coffee shop, the office machine or freshly brewed at home. Grinding. Brewing. Frothing. These are the sounds that get us through the day, the sounds of coffee.

Personally I’m a Percolator when I can be. In the mornings I like to wake myself up with a hot cup of jo from my Moka pot and get going with the day. Arguably the best way to make coffee (although I’m sure many would disagree with me), the user neuezukunft shared with us the sounds of his Moka pot boiling full of coffee.

For those of us who prefer to leave the coffee making to the professionals, cafés are our hang-outs. Café culture is huge, and it’s hard to go a day without dropping by your local coffee shop to pick up a latte. Hip Hop artist Stahlblau uploaded a recording of the sounds of coffee making at OST café in East Village, NYC.

When it comes to needing a real boost, espresso is the answer. Igor uploads his own field recordings from his surroundings in Berlin. That afternoon Igor was in need of a pick me up, so he headed straight for the good stuff:

If you’re a big coffee drinker and are on SoundCloud, then meet the rest of us over on the Coffee Makers in Full Swing group, and share your coffee related sounds.

That’s all for this week’s Found Sounds! Tune in next week for more crazy sounds from the ‘Cloud.
