It’s the first week of a New Year and time to start afresh, do something new, do something for the first time! In the New Year we begin to collect “first” memories, what was the first song you heard this year? Who was the first person you spoke to?  Firsts are a big deal, and unsurprisingly many of them have been captured on the ‘cloud and we want to share them with you.Happy New Year everybody! Here’s Jol Ching’s first sounds of 2012, all the way from Quezon City in the Phillipines; Happy New Year Jol, it sounds like you brought in the New Year with a bang.

What has to be the most precious first you can record? It’s got to be the first words spoken by your child. The user pfong was able to record his daughter’s first words using the SoundCloud app so they’ll never be lost and can be cherished forever. Recorded in August of last year, let’s take a listen to May’s first words, congratulations May!

What’s the first sound to wake you up in the morning? For me it’s the shrill ring of my alarm over and over until I whack the snooze button. For those luckier than myself it might be the relaxing awakening of the morning chorus. We found the sound of a Zebra Finch singing its morning song thanks to the user eFinch, who care for finches and has collected recordings of their bird song!

Well, I wonder what firsts stick out for you most. Share them with us and never loose that memory.

That’s all for this week’s Found Sounds! Tune in next week for more crazy sounds from the ‘Cloud.
