SoundCloud Voices

SoundCloud Voices

SoundCloud Voices is a  weekly Community feature focusing on new spoken word creators found on SoundCloud.  It might be a podcast, radio show, audio book, interview, audio messages, a poem, anything!  Keep an eye out every Thursday for a new post.

Happy New Year everyone! Before you take off that party-hat, clean up those deflated balloons and sweep up the confetti, there’s one more holiday-related topic we need to explore.

New Year’s Resolutions!

Now as a SoundCloud user, one of your resolutions should probably be to take full advantage of all the cool tools SoundCloud offers. One great feature on SoundCloud is our Podcasting platform (Find out more here!). While you could choose to simply speak nonsense or record monkey noises and call it a podcast, you might want to think about taking some pointers from a highly successful podcaster.

GigaOm’s Michael Wolf recently interviewed Marc Maron, who produces ‘WTF’, one of the most popular podcasts on the net. You can read the full article here, and be sure to listen to the interview for some tips and tricks on fulfilling your New Year’s resolution of creating an amazing podcast!

Perhaps your next resolution will be to take your new, highly-successful podcast international! To do that, you might need some foreign language skills. Take a cue from SoundCloud’s very own Marie Elliott. While living in Berlin, she’s been learning a new German word each day and posting it to SoundCloud. Here’s one of her recent words of the day:

We all know that in most people’s experience a New Year’s resolution usually lasts for about…2 days. But we’ve found a SoundClouder who has put together some special podcasts to help all of us (yes, even you!) stick with our New Year’s resolution.

The Mental Health Foundation, based in the U.K., has been producing some great podcasts focused on helping everyone live healthier lives (both mentally and physically). Recently they’ve been publishing a special series focused on New Year’s resolutions. Check out this track for some suggestions on how to stay healthy in 2012.

And to close, we’ll leave you with this New Year’s resolution, courtesy of the folks at FredFm:
