Meet Austin SoundCloud Hero, Tim Bedard

Over the course of the next few days, we will be introducing each of our first five SoundCloud Heroes to get a closer look into who they are. If you’re from the city they are representing, get in touch with them!

Today, let’s meet Tim Bedard of Austin, TX. Tim is involved heavily in the music-making scene from start to finish. You can certainly tell by his audio introduction so give it a listen below.

Quick Facts:
Name: Tim Bedard
SoundCloud: Wahrk
Location: Austin, TX

What do you do? How do you use SoundCloud in your life?
I make music in just about every way I can, though I’m really big on computers and technology and using them to create music, which has led me down the paths of electronic music and video game scoring.

I use SoundCloud to share what I’m working on with friends, peers, and clients, as well as keep up with their new music. We provide feedback on each other’s tracks and even organize collaborations through SoundCloud.

What are your aspirations for the SoundCloud community in your city?
My big goals are to really promote an open, supportive community and get people from every type of audio-related medium to collaborate. Music, film, radio, spoken word. All of it. I want to see people put their talents into fields they’ve yet to dabble in, and learn how to utilize tools like SoundCloud to do so.

What is your favorite place in the city and why?
My favorite place in Austin is probably Lamar Boulevard, because it’s got tons of awesome places all up and down it: the Alamo Drafthouse, Musicmakers, South Austin Music, some great food trailers, a couple of Half Price Books. The list goes on. Though a close second is Dragon’s Lair (a nifty game and comic shop up on Burnet), as I’m a big nerd.

What is your favorite sound and why?
Throwing my keys up in the air. The shimmering sound it makes is really pretty. Now I really want to go play with the samples of it I made some more.

Where else can we find you on the web? (Twitter, FB, etc.)
You can check out my releases as wahrk at wahrk.com. I’ve also got my own shoddy little website in the works at bedardsound.com.
