SoundCloud Heroes are inspirational leaders who bring people together around sound by cultivating and engaging unique communities.
If you’ve missed it, we introduced our newest SoundCloud Heroes this past week! Say hello to Gracie Eisenhauer, a pianist who is studying to become an audio engineer. She wants to create an orchestral soundtrack with SoundClouders inspired by visuals that are also submitted from SoundClouders! Read on below.

What do you do? How do you use SoundCloud in your life?
I am a rising college freshman majoring in piano with a degree in Music Production and Recording Technology and minors in voice and religion. My dream is to become an audio engineer in charge of recording a movie soundtrack. SoundCloud has always been an encouraging center for me. Whether it’s me finding a beginner artist and commenting on their piece to help them continue their music journey, or a group of SoundCloud pianists giving me helpful feedback on a piece I might be stuck on.
What is the collaboration idea that you would like to accomplish with the SoundCloud community?
I love how visuals give musicians inspiration. Not only musicians, but writers and artists as well! This collaboration won’t be using pictures of film clips from the internet…I want it to be from SoundClouder submissions and the Heroes can file through and choose a certain amount to focus on. Once you choose which visual you’ll use, you can do anything from creating a singer-songwriter piece discussing the theme or storyline of the visual, to creating an orchestral soundtrack! That’s the basic idea, but it could also be where each piece will have one story, one soundtrack, etc, and SoundClouders will sign up for each one, causing each visual to have a team collaboration! You’ll know more when the time comes.
What is your favorite place in the city and why?
Well, right now it’s the college I’ll be attending: Shenandoah University! Even though I’ve gone there to watch musicals and plays since I was five, I now see it in a whole new exciting light as it’s now my bridge from student to audio engineer. Even though it’s a small school, it’s a beautiful campus, and it has a really great Conservatory for music majors like me.
What is your favorite sound and why?
The echo of a live piano in a store or huge house not knowing where it comes from. The pounding rain on the gutters on the edge of a roof. The comfortable silence of a snowfall. The tuning of a cello. These are just a few to get you started, but telling me to choose one is like telling a mother to choose her favorite child!
