Competition entries can be up to three minutes of sound that you’ve captured. Entries will be curated into a group of finalists by BeautifulNow and The Sound Agency, and then a communal vote will determine the winner.
“Sound affects us all every day, but most people are unconscious of its power,” said Julian Treasure, chairman of The Sound Agency. “My vision is to make the world of sound beautiful so I’m delighted to be judging this competition for the world’s most beautiful sounds – it will raise people’s awareness of sound and help us all to explore the aural beauty that so often goes unnoticed around us.”
Your entry must be a recording of captured sound. Composed and mixed sounds are not eligible. Please upload any of the following file formats: AIFF, WAVE (WAV), FLAC, ALAC, OGG, MP2, MP3, AAC, AMR or WMA. Attach a file name and a description of no more than 100 words.
Deadline for entries is December 16, 2013
Judging begins on December 16, 2013
Finalists will be announced on January 2, 2014
Voting will take places between January 2 and 12, 2014
It’s easy. Connect your Instagram feed to your SoundCloud account. Then you’ll be free to choose your best photos to add to your tracks, playlists, groups, or profile. You can do it straight away when you post on SoundCloud, or add Instagram images later on the sound or track’s page. Looking for inspiration? Kaskade and Krewella have already hooked it up.
Your Instagrams: the next generation of iconic album covers? We can’t wait to see what you have to share.
We’re always hard at work making SoundCloud easier and more intuitive to use. Today, we’re happy to announce an update to the SoundCloud upload experience. When uploading several tracks at once, you now have the ability to group them into a playlist.
Edit all the pertinent details of the playlist on one page during upload. Information that applies to all the tracks in your playlist – such as the artwork, description, tags, and settings – now only needs to be filled out once. Super simple.
If you’d like to upload a group of sounds but don’t want to turn them into a playlist, we’ve got you covered – simply uncheck the “Make a playlist when uploading multiple sounds” box before uploading and your sounds will upload as individual tracks.
