SoundCloud x Noisey Singles launch event

SoundCloud x Noisey Singles launch event

Last Wednesday, once the sun set on a steamy LA workday, nearly 300 music fans streamed into Downtown LA music venue Resident for the first SoundCloud x Noisey Singles event. The invite-only showcase filled up quickly, feeling intimate and familiar – like the offline version of the global yet tightknit SoundCloud community. Creators were connecting with their followers in real life for the first time, and debuting tracks that fans had only ever heard online.

The night was full of firsts. It was R&B singer and beat-maker Jae Stephens’ first performance ever and she debuted her newest single, “Headlights,” rapper Lil West followed her act with his latest track “No More,” and K$upreme – a member of Lil Yachty’s sailing team who has seemingly since graduated to his own fleet – performed “Views.” We even overheard a guest say that this was the first time they had seen the place so packed on a Wednesday. Filling an arts district venue on a school night is another ‘first’ that we’ll add to the list.

Taking their creations to the stage was just one of the ways these three independent artists gained exposure through the SoundCloud x Noisey Singles program. They also received original video content, promotion on the SoundCloud platform and multi-channel media support. Singles, a continuation of our “First On SoundCloud” campaign, will return with a new crop of talent this fall, debuting new tracks from independent artists who are part of SoundCloud’s direct monetization program.

The next listening party is in Brooklyn and happening in December so check back here for more details on that. Since everyone will be in puffers, we’re thinking the night will be equally as cozy and feel just as packed. Interested in attending our events or learning more about other SoundCloud programming?
