What happened when the SoundCloud Creator Forum took over A3C
If you missed the SoundCloud Creator Forum at A3C this month, it’s okay – you can feel like you were part of the thousands of creators that showed up via the below recap and some first-person content capture. (Feel free to hit play on the video or scroll to the bottom if you’re more of a visual learner).
Day one in Atlanta, we set the groundwork with panels on topics you asked to know more about. From the business of music creation, networking in the digital age, and the power of community & the artist collective, attendees got tips and info on how to build their careers on SoundCloud and beyond. The learning continued into the evening with a packed fireside chat ft. SoundCloud’s very own Lisa Ellis, SVP of Music, Artist Relations and Label Services, in conversation with industry heavyweights Troy Carter and L.A. Reid.

With the foundation in place, day two connected creators (from managers to content producers to photographers) in a relaxed open space. Artists got the opportunity to meet each other, receive real-time feedback on their tracks from music pros, and test out SoundCloud’s DJ integration with Serato.

And on the last day of A3C, it was time to celebrate – and elevate what’s next in music with an open mic and I-85 artist showcase. Twenty upstart artists got pointers on their performances from SoundCloud employees and a festival booking team, and later on, ten of the city’s rising stars (plus a surprise cameo by Slim Jxmmi of duo Rae Sremmurd) took the stage.

We know sometimes seeing is believing, so if you want to really relive A3C, you can view highlights via our Instagram Stories for Day 1, Day 2 & Day 3. Were you there contributing your time and vibes to the future of hip-hop? Share what you learned or liked with the hashtag #SCCFXA3C.
After A3C we packed up our carry-ons and took the SoundCloud Creator Forum overseas to Amsterdam Dance Event. Check back next week to experience what’s next in music, the electronic edition, and keep following our socials to find out where we’ll be landing next month.
